Area of validity of the insurance
The insurance cover applies worldwide, but does not extend to liability claims
- asserted before a court in the USA / US territories or Canada,
- as a result of the violation of US or Canadian law,
- in connection with an activity carried out in the USA / US territories or Canada,
- Furthermore, liability claims of the policyholder or the subsidiaries against insured persons and the insured persons against each other are excluded from the insurance cover,
- which are asserted before the court of a country in which common law applies - this also applies in the case of a domestic enforcement judgement (Section 722 ZPO),
- as a result of a breach of the law of a country in which common law applies,
- in connection with an activity carried out in a common law country.
- Common law countries within the meaning of this exclusion are in particular the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Jamaica, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa as well as countries that apply the law or jurisdiction of the aforementioned countries.
